Not sure if Lightning Strike Carbon Edition is real or a scam

The Lightning Strike Carbon Edition sounds like a total disaster from the beginning. Forget the bad performance and user interface it's the bare battery cells strapped to the frame with just some carbon fiber freaked me out to be honest. Is this thing a death trap waiting to happen? Feels like a Theranos level hype job all flash and no substance. And are they seriously expecting people to ride around with exposed battery cells? Basically this whole thing smells like a scam wrapped in carbon fiber.

The exposed battery is something that doesn't give me peace too. I think we should understand the purpose of it it is not riding it at high speeds. As other bikes, it is ok for a daily commute.

There is like a clear polymer coating over the cells, so they are not actually exposed.
