Lightning Motorcycles has been making headlines, but not for their bikes their crowdfunding campaign has raised a lot of questions. With a claimed $80M valuation despite only generating $175K in revenue, many are wondering if this is a legitimate opportunity or just wishful thinking.
Even if they hit their goal of $500K does that justify the high valuation? Crowdfunding isn’t exactly the go-to strategy for established companies and when a motorcycle brand relies on public funding instead of private investment it’s fair to question the long-term viability.
